Experience:

I have over 25 years of experience in education spanning early years through to Higher Education and a smattering of FE experience. During this time I have had the privilege of working in a number of European and Asian countries as well as in the Middle East before settling in Preston, UK.
I have extensive teaching experience as well as academic development; international support; leadership and management, quality assurance and compliance; assessment and test writing; apprenticeships; developing facilitators and trainers. My subject area is languages and linguistics and my diverse roles have tended to be within the Humanities, Social Science and Creative Industries. Core to my career is my focus on developing others through effective and engaging teaching, training, coaching and mentoring.
In addition to my position at Cumbria, I am a Board member for NCUK; an Assessor for the L7 Academic Apprenticeship; CATE reviewer, School Governor and member of the HEDG Executive.
